Run npm test with coverage. Analyze failures and threshold violations, then automatically fix failing tests and add missing coverage until all thresholds pass.

Normally testing workflows look like this:

  2. Read failures

  3. Fix manually

  4. Re-run tests

  5. Check coverage

  6. Add missing tests

  7. Repeat forever

This command compresses the entire loop.

Claude can:

4. Kill the 800-Word Answer

The command:

Keep this short. I'll ask for more if I need it.

AI loves essays. Developers usually don’t.

Sometimes you just want:

  • the fix

  • the command

  • the answer

  • the root cause

Nothing else.

Why It Matters

This removes:

  • fluff

  • over-explaining

  • repetitive disclaimers

  • unnecessary examples

And turns Claude into a much sharper engineering assistant.

5. Surface the Hidden Assumptions First

The command:

Before you respond — what are you assuming?

This one is criminally underrated. Most bad AI outputs happen because of hidden assumptions.

What This Unlocks

Claude starts exposing:

  • missing context

  • hidden dependencies

  • unstated interpretations

  • environmental assumptions

  • framework assumptions

Which means:
you catch mistakes before implementation begins.

Example

Maybe Claude assumes:

  • you use TypeScript

  • you use App Router

  • you’re deploying to Vercel

  • you’re using Tailwind

But your stack is different.

The command:

Think out loud before giving me the final answer.

This changes how Claude reasons.

Why It’s Powerful

Instead of just outputting conclusions, Claude reveals:

  • its reasoning chain

  • tradeoffs

  • decision paths

  • architectural logic

  • debugging flow

This becomes incredibly useful for:

  • difficult bugs

Important Note

You shouldn’t use this for everything.

But for high-stakes engineering tasks?

It’s incredibly valuable.

Because seeing the reasoning often matters more than the answer itself.

7. Break Out of First-Output Tunnel Vision

Give me three versions. Different angles.

The first output is rarely the best output. Most developers stop too early.

Why This Is Important

This breaks AI determinism.

Instead of getting:

  • one architecture

  • one implementation

  • one solution style

You get:

  • multiple perspectives

  • competing approaches

  • alternative tradeoffs

Example Outcomes

Claude might generate:

The command:

Now critique what you just wrote.

This command is unbelievably useful.

It becomes both:

  • and the reviewer

Why This Is So Effective

11. Ask for the Uncomfortable Truth

The command:

Give me the uncomfortable version of this answer.

AI defaults to diplomacy. Real engineering often needs brutal honesty.

Why Developers Need This

Sometimes you need Claude to say:

  • your architecture is overengineered

  • your startup idea lacks differentiation

  • your API design is fragile

  • your scaling plan won’t work

  • your abstraction is unnecessary

And honestly? Those answers are often the most valuable.

Because the safest answer is not always the most useful answer.

12. Audit Every Assumption Before You Execute

The command:

Flag every assumption you made.

This command improves engineering thinking itself.

Why It Matters

Good systems fail because of hidden assumptions.

One of the best editing commands ever.
